Santos is a precious wood from South America. After the export of Brazilian rosewood was banned, Santos often became its substitute, highlighting its value and rarity.

Sound Characteristics

The sound characteristics of Santos offer a wide range, with rich overtones, sensitive and prominent sound levels, and a texture that is both gentle and strong. Compared to Indian rosewood, the mid-high pitch is clearer and less turbid. Due to the higher hardness and difficulty in crafting Santos rosewood, overcoming these challenges results in a superior sound experience for musicians.

When paired with Engelmann spruce veneer, the combination brings both visual and auditory delight. The spruce offers a wide sound range with full and clear mid-highs and strong bass, while the Santos provides an elegant, low-key texture. This pairing makes the sound of the all-solid guitar both explosive and controlled.
